I just came back from Teluk Intan. Actually was detour from North South Highway exit from Bidor and heading toward Teluk Intan. But to my surprise, it is still a distance from Bidor. Anyway, Teluk Intan is a pleasant town, the streets are clean and wide compare to others. On way back, I tried the coastal road to Sabak Bernam, Tg Karang, Sekinchan, Kuala Selangor, Ijok to Sg Buloh and then to KL.
Quite a distance, should go back to Bidor, then North South Highway. What you suggest? What is your recommended route?

Teluk Intan is my hometown. People always imagine that tower are the only attraction there, but actually also a few interesting place to visit there. Jet ski along Bidor river, local food and alot more.

hi
I'm a Teluk Intan gal.
I love my hometown. Pretty much a sleepy, but infinitely peaceful area.

Just want to point out one thing...

The Leaning Clock Tower of Teluk Intan is in the heart of Teluk Intan. Please do not put it's location at Perak Ipoh, because while it is in Perak, the Tower is a good 90 km away from Ipoh.

Cheers!

*Due to TI's unique location at the confluence of two rivers, surrounded by small, peaceful villages and oil palm plantations, it does that a relatively long detour from the main highway to this town. About 30 - 60 minutes from Bidor, depending on the speed of your driving...

And for the non- Muslims, do try Chee Cheong Fun in TI. I guarantee they are NOT the same ones you taste in Penang or KL or anywhere else...

Have a nice day

I am not a Malaysian though I have been to Teluk Anson a few times, since my hubby is from this town. I love the huge variety of foods and snacks. The town though small compared to KL is a very lovely place to visit and it has many lovely memories for me.

As a Teluk Intan citizen, i wan to say teluk intan is not under ipoh..
it is an independent city and under control of Majlis Perbandarn Teluk Intan. except leaning tower, teluk intan still have malaysia' second longer river; is around 300km distance ( nt sure about it) ... in addition, there have few famous fishing villages nearby teluk intan like hutan melintang all those..(teluk intan have 6 or 8 fishing village ,, nt sure is 6 or 8) .... the nice foods tat famous among teluk intan are of course chinese chu cheong fun, nasi kandar krishnan wat we called tat "under tree" , nasi kandar speedy tat start its business since 1956 year, "rojak kia" tat start its business since 60 years ago, mastan ghani tat famous with its mee rebus ( it really delicious !!!, the nicest mee rebus i had eaten.) teluk intan also have a lot of birds tat produce bird nest; so it becomes a norm in teluk intan to build and feed the bird for bird nest. in addition, teluk intan have a lot of palm oil estates,, company like sime darby, golden hope , united plantation, unitata own their estate in teluk intan.

besides all those 'veteren' famous restaurant like mastan ghani, gulam etc, teluk intan also have new popular place that serve good and variety of food. it offer malay dishes, western and the most popular is their tom yam. its being called 'sup tom yam'. many people like this special dish especially for those who are from teluk intan included malay, chinese, indian and others.
the restaurant is WANA CAFE.located at bandar baru, next to lower perak club and behind the teluk intan rest house.
it open from 5pm until 2pm.
